This is one aimed at kids with smaller saddles who need a pad that's a bit thicker (this one is 17/18mm thick cream wool felt), and a contoured spine with cut out wither. It also features silver metallic hair on hide and croc embossed wears (no, this isn't real croc - it would be thousands if it was!!) - a little flash and is priced at $330 - a bit above the standard kids pads to account for the extra thickness and the hide.
It's a new shape - slightly curved at the bottom rear, for those with fenders. It's not quite as curved as the 'big kids' pads and this is so that the horse/pony still has cover incase the skirt of the saddle comes down lower.
For this reason, on this shape pad I won't be offering engraved circle patches on the sides (as it may well be covered depending on where the skirt of the saddle comes to) BUT I have finished the pad except for the leather spine - so that you can add engraving down the spine if you wish. A child's name, favourite quote, special message etc.
Materials + Care
I use the best materials I can find, from local suppliers where possible. For saddle pads, please only use cool water and mild wool wash and never use a washing machine. A soft rubber curry comb may be used to remove dirt and hair, however I recommened the nozzle of your vaccuum for general dust and hair. As cool as they are, all pads are consumables and they will need replacing once they've had their day. All gear, regardless of who makes it and where it's from, should be checked before each ride. Never ride in worn or broken gear. Nothing lasts forever.
