The theory behind these tools is that the horse feels resistance when their head elevates and a release of all pressure when it lowers.
I have had numerous people ask me to make these for them, but their combined wish list was a little different than those on the market.
The leather on these is 1st grade Herman Oak skirting leather, which comes conditioned and ready to use.
Stainless steel hardware, with compact sized trigger snaps at the bit end rather than long traditional snaps, and pre-knotted so you can use it from the get-go (one I bought myself a long time ago came undone every time, so I've researched a cool little knot that actually stays put!)
Traditionally, the ropes and cords on these training tools are white, however MBH headsets feature black paracord rope - which is mildew resistant, will not rot, is lightweight and extremely strong.
They also have a thinner 8mm shock cord (bungee). The reason I have used thinner bungee than other headsets on the market, is that in playing with it, the thicker bungee took a large amount of resistance to stretch .. which to me, makes smaller corrections (sooner than waiting for a big mistake!) impossible. I don't particularly like tools that have an 'all or nothing' action - I'd rather something softer, hence the materials I chose to make these.
One size but featuring plenty of holes for adjustment.
Materials + Care
I use the best materials I can find, from local suppliers where possible. For saddle pads, please only use cool water and mild wool wash and never use a washing machine. A soft rubber curry comb may be used to remove dirt and hair, however I recommened the nozzle of your vaccuum for general dust and hair.
Postage + Returns
Where personalisation is required, please allow 3 days before postage (there may be times I am away and this will always be announced on my facebook site so please follow to get regular updates. Where no personalisation is required, these usually go out the following day except on weekends. Returns are only accepted for workmanship faults, not change of mind.
